Default Which 2nd profession should i pick?

Hi, well as my other thread asking about what campaign i shall pick, i picked Factions. Now the thing is, which 2nd profession should i be? I was thinking about Monk or Ele but i never beat the factions campaign so no idea what's useful to beat Factions. Any suggestion? Maybe a build also?

Thank You

I don't usually use my second prof. I run monk mostly though for the rez, but thats about it. Often mesmer skills are the only ones you need.

If you like using degen skills in Illusion, you may find that using a Me/N build using a few curse spells would work well. I've also found that Me/A can be fun, especially combing Deadly Arts with Illusion.

Monk for Res Chant
Ritualist for Flesh of my Flesh
Elementalist for Glyph of Lesser Energy
Assassin for Assassin's Promise

Those are probably the best options with various secondary skills that are effective on a Mesmer. The hard-resses speak for themselves, GoLE is solid energy management to support a Mesmer build, and AP is energy management as well as helps negate the long domination skill recharges.

the only time you're ever gonna need secondary skills is if you are going with a hard res (monk or rit), if you are going degen, in which case you would only need a few skills (necro), or if you need something like GoLE. Dont bother mixing in most of the other skills from ur secondary. Some pve skills work in nicely, especially the Asuran skills.

I am usually a Mesmer/Monk but only because of the Rezz. Sometimes i use Derwish because of vital boon and mystic Regeneration, but only in pvp

me/e for glyph of lesser energy.

kinda hard to pass up the best emanagement in the game.

otherwise, go me/rt for flesh of my flesh or death pact signet.

I like Me/Rit or Me/N.

/Rit - rez, healing (since no need for divine favor), condition removal, and another form of damage (ie: channelling with elites to gain energy, so no need for inspiriation magic)

/N - hex synergy; condition sending; better healing

I second this

Elementalist just for the energy management of this skill. If you are new to the mesmer you will have issues with energy. Casting 2 x faster than anyone else will leave you standing around waiting for energy.

Ritualist for versatility fast cast Resto healing and condition removal mixed with rez skills or blasting with channeling skills. Good choice as well
